Scholarship & Award Programs

The following items give further clarification on scholarships and award programs by the JaxALA and the Chapter's Business Partners.  If you have any additional questions, please email the current President.

 

Networking

Promotes the exchange of ideas regarding administration and management problems unique to legal organizations. Our members have diversified legal expertise in many areas of law firm management.

Did you know you can take an JaxALA member to lunch for free?  How about a Business Partner? 

Member Lunch:
The Chapter will reimburse you when you luncheon with a fellow Member(s) for up to a total of 4 lunches per year, per member!  Details are listed below:

  • Invite ALA Members to lunch.

  • Enjoy a wonderful meal getting to know your peers!

  • Each Member can turn in their receipt or a combined receipt with a Reimbursement Form including member names, date and location to the Treasurer via email to [email protected].

  • Limit up to $15.00 per Member per meal, with an annual maximum of $60.00 (That’s 4 free Member to Member lunches per year!).

Business Partner:
The Chapter will reimburse you when you luncheon with a listed Business Partners for up to a total of 4 lunches per year, per member!  Details are listed below:

  • Invite an ALA Business Partner to lunch (can be your representative with that company if applicable).

  • Enjoy a wonderful meal getting to know YOUR Business Partners – you don’t need to use their product(s) or even WANT to use their services.  This is a great opportunity for both parties to learn who each other are, gain information about each other and network.  Perhaps your firm is considering a new product/service – what better time to find out then on the Chapter’s tab, one-on-one!  However, most conversations are about the people and fostering new or existing relationships.

  • Grab a business card from the vendor or have them email the Treasurer at [email protected] that you went to lunch.

  • Limit up to $30.00 per meal, with an annual maximum of $120.00 (That’s 4 free Member to Business Partner lunches per year!).

 

Survey

A bi-annual law firm benefits and salary survey is performed and is available to the general public for a fee. The information is a valuable tool for making many personnel decisions. The survey is free of charge to JaxALA member participants.

 

Annual Managing Partners Expo

Promotes our profession by educating our Managing Partners and Business Partners to the value and availability of JaxALA Members. This event is an opportunity to acknowledge the support of our firms and to advance the goals of the ALA.

 

Educational Meetings

Develops and promotes educational experiences with timely topics of special interest to legal administrators. Monthly luncheon programs and special seminars are conducted on financial management, human resources, information systems and technology, marketing and leadership development. Luncheons are held every month beginning at noon.

 

Pictorial Directory of Members

Provides pertinent information on all chapter members and facilitates communications between firms.

 

Leadership Development

Enhances the leadership skills of members by involvement on chapter committees and service as elected officers at the local, regional and national level.

 

Community Service

The Jacksonville Chapter provides annual community service to Hubbard House during October and December. Community service is performed by the Chapter each quarter to help support various agencies.

 

Association of Legal Administrators (National Chapter)

For more information on joining the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) and its benefits, contact ALA at membership.  ALA promotes networking nationally and internationally, offers educational conferences both nationally and regionally, telephone seminars, a bimonthly magazine on legal management, a directory of its 8,000+ members and a job bank.
